Description: Part-time Emergency Medical Technician
Starting Salary: $15.00 per hour without benefits
Probation Period: 90 days
Nature of the position:
Employee will be responsible for staffing the ambulance and providing medical care in an emergency and non-emergency setting.
Employee must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and be able to make sound medical decisions while working under pressure.
Provide Basic Life Support and transport of the sick and injured
Must provide all patient care within scope of practice set forth by Delaware State B.L.S. Protocols
Complete DEMRS reports or incident reports by the end of shift
Routine checks of ambulance equipment and vehicles
Perform housekeeping duties
Must be able to work well with the public, staff and our supporting agencies
Other responsibilities may be added on a case by case basis.
High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
Must be 21 years of age
Valid Driver’s License with NO D.U.I.’s and must have less than 4 points at the time of applying
Must provide the a certified copy of complete driving record from DMV (6 months) (upon hire)
Valid EMT card from National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
Valid Delaware EMT certification card from the Delaware State Fire School
Valid Healthcare Provider C.P.R./A.E.D. certification card
Valid Delaware Emergency Vehicles Operators License
Excellent oral and written communication skills
1 year of active EMT experience in a emergency setting
Must complete the Station 64 physical agility test and employee FTO process
CEVO III driving course
Delaware State Fire School FTO card
Work Hours: 12 hour shifts Day – Night, Must be able to work weekends (Hours subject to change based on availability)
